Heal the Brokenness

Remember when the word dysfunctional was not an everyday term? Neither were these: neurotic, psychotic, manic, bipolar, phobia, stress, addiction, breakdown, therapy, 12-step, recovery, burnout, mid-life crisis, hyperactive, repressed, depression, disorder. A.D.D., and A.D.H.D. But all of this reveals the fragmented nature of our culture. Many around us are dis-integrated. Many of us have been in places of brokenness. But there is a way to change this. It’s what you might call reverse disintegration. This is only possible through Christ. Paul reminded us that the day is coming when all the disparate elements of the universe will be

reconnected. The day is coming when God will “bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ” (Ephesians 1:10b).

Jesus has the power to heal the brokenness caused by our hurts, habits and hangups. Christ is the only One who can deliver us from the tyranny of our sin and bring us into breathtaking liberty. He can help us move from fragmentation to freedom.
